China stated that to restore security in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States and Iran must resume negotiations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said during a briefing.

He emphasized that the priority for all concerned parties is the immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of dialogue. Guo Jiakun also added that the Chinese government is deeply concerned about the tense situation in the Middle East and calls on all parties to refrain from further escalation of the conflict in the region.
