In Ukraine, the rules for reserving employees at strategic enterprises have been changed to retain key specialists in the energy sector and prevent disruptions in the industry’s operations. Domestic manufacturers of transformer equipment can now receive “critically important” status if they meet two or more criteria, and all their employees subject to military service are eligible for reservation.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports that the changes are aimed at ensuring uninterrupted operation of the energy and gas transportation systems, as well as supporting the repair and restoration of infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks.
According to Deputy Minister of Economy Vitalii Kindrativ, the new rules will allow transformer manufacturers to operate without interruptions, and reserving all employees subject to military service will minimize the risk of staffing shortages.
The changes are expected to positively impact the pace of production and restoration of transformer equipment, which is critically important for stable electricity supply across the country.
