📊 The majority of Ukrainians and entrepreneurs have a positive attitude toward the idea of a 4-day workweek while maintaining 40 working hours: 53% of citizens and 58% of businesses support this initiative. This was reported by MP Danylo Hetmantsev, citing a mini-survey and research by the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

🧠 According to Hetmantsev, this indicates society’s readiness to shift the work format. Ukrainians, exhausted by war, alarms, and instability, are seeking a more flexible approach to maintaining productivity without harming their health.
🏢 The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in its “Business Barometer” study, confirmed that 58% of entrepreneurs support the 4-day workweek, and another 16% believe the choice should be left to companies. That’s over 70% — a strong signal for dialogue between the state, business, and workers.
🌍 Hetmantsev also noted that globally, switching to a 4-day workweek is often accompanied by increased productivity, improved employee mental health, and overall economic benefits.
📉 At the same time, the Ukrainian economy remains in a zone of pessimism. The business expectations index in July was –12.4, although that’s an improvement over June (–13.9). The best dynamics were seen in the construction sector — the only one with a positive indicator of +6.7.
📈 Overall, a gradual weakening of pessimistic sentiment is being recorded across all business groups — from micro to large enterprises. Business is adapting, which creates a foundation for changes toward a more flexible organization of work.
