The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the allocation of an additional UAH 10.84 billion to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities. The funds are a remaining balance of the state budget’s special fund and will be directed toward the needs of the Armed Forces and the development of the defense-industrial complex.

According to the government decision, the funding will be distributed between two main areas.
Around UAH 9.05 billion will be allocated directly to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — including the procurement of weapons, as well as the modernization and repair of military equipment.
Another UAH 1.79 billion will be invested in the development of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex. These funds will go toward the implementation of new technologies, expansion of production capacity, and modernization of the sector.
The Ministry of Defense noted that the money was accumulated through personal income tax revenues, as well as licensing income from the gambling industry and lotteries. These funds were accumulated in a special fund created in 2025 after the transfer of relevant functions from the liquidated Ministry of Strategic Industries to the Ministry of Defense.
