Russian occupiers have recently intensified their actions in the southern direction, so the situation there shows signs of escalation. The enemy has increased the number of attacks using drones, ammunition, and artillery.

This was reported on the telemarathon by the spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn. He added that the enemy has resumed using motorcycles during assaults.
“The situation is quite difficult and shows certain tendencies toward escalation. This is evident in the fact that over the past day the enemy has somewhat increased the number of strikes with kamikaze drones and artillery shelling, targeting not only the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces but also settlements near the frontline,” the military spokesperson explained.
The enemy continues to pressure the south
Voloshyn reported that yesterday, fewer clashes occurred in the southern direction compared to other sections of the front. In total, there were 13 battles, eight of which took place in the Huliaipil direction, where the enemy has been unsuccessfully trying to capture Poltavka for several consecutive days.
“In addition, four clashes occurred in the Orikhiv direction near the settlements of Kamianske and Stepove, and the enemy attempted to assault our positions near the Antonivskyi Bridges in the Prydniprovski direction. All these attempts were unsuccessful,” he said.
He also noted that near Stepove in the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces again used motorcycles during an assault but suffered losses and were forced to retreat.

Recall that earlier, military expert Vladyslav Selezniov suggested that during its attempts to advance on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions, Russia will focus its efforts where our defenders’ defenses are weaker. Therefore, the southern direction is unlikely to become the enemy’s main target.
