Starting March 1, Ukrainians will continue to pay for electricity at the current tariff of 4.32 UAH per 1 kWh. There will be no price increase, and the current rate will remain in effect at least until April 30, 2026, in accordance with the government’s decision.

The document provides for the extension of the Public Service Obligations (PSO) mechanism. This is a state regulatory instrument that obliges market participants to sell electricity under special conditions to ensure affordable prices for the population, energy security, and system stability. In the government resolution, the validity period of the previous decision was changed from October 31, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko previously stated that the government is currently not considering raising tariffs for the population. According to her, amid regular power outages, such a decision would be inappropriate, as consumers are already receiving significantly less supply.
Director of the Energy Research Center Oleksandr Kharchenko also noted that under the current conditions, raising tariffs makes no sense. In his opinion, the electricity market requires systemic reform, as significant debts and financial problems have accumulated. At the same time, the expert emphasized that transitioning to a market model does not necessarily mean price increases; however, large-scale changes are unlikely to occur during the war.
