“During the war, which poses the greatest threat to our statehood, I made the decision to continue serving on the front line. Petro Poroshenko has already congratulated me on this decision, which he deeply respects. I have not yet received congratulations from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief… But my combat work, like the work of every soldier on the front line, is now very important,” Chornovol wrote.
She emphasized that the main problem facing the country remains mobilization, as there are not enough soldiers at the front.
“Shameful evasion is being glorified with political slogans such as: ‘Let the deputies go first.’ I am setting an example — a deputy chooses not the parliamentary hall, but service in the army,” Chornovol noted.
At the same time, she has not resigned her parliamentary mandate. According to her, the Central Election Commission granted her a one-year deferment to carry out combat missions.
“I thank the Central Election Commission for its state-minded position. My request was approved. Now I have one year for us to defeat the aggressor — and for me to earn the moral right to leave the front,” she concluded.
