Russia is attempting to copy Ukrainian interceptor drone technologies and is increasing UAV strike depth, which requires strengthening electronic warfare units, said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, during the monthly meeting on the development of unmanned systems forces.

According to him, Ukraine has scaled up its electronic warfare capabilities, and by August, the number of enemy drones neutralized had already increased.
Ukrainian drones have inflicted significant damage both at the tactical level and deep in the enemy’s rear. Logistics and supply targets were destroyed or damaged, including oil refineries, ammunition depots, and air defense systems, while drones were also actively used directly on the front lines.
Syrsky emphasized that Ukraine is engaged in a technological race, and the key task is the continuous improvement of existing solutions and the development of new technologies and tactics for unmanned systems deployment.
In August, Ukrainian drones struck over 60,000 targets, primarily kamikaze drones and strike bombers. A priority remains the “drone line”: units are expanding, crews are undergoing intensive training, and strikes deep into enemy positions against equipment and personnel are being strengthened.
Among the destroyed targets were oil refineries, defense industry facilities, and production capacities supplying the Russian army with fuel, drones, and missiles.
