⚡ The so-called “coal case” is an attempt by the authorities to divert attention from real threats to Ukraine and to block the activities of the opposition leader.

This is how Petro Poroshenko commented on the court hearing in the case.
“The authorities are interested in what they do best — making TV shows. Series they’ve been producing since 2019. Back then they seemed like comedies, but today — I emphasize — it’s a psychological thriller with elements of horror,” said the fifth President, commenting on today’s hearing.
“Why is this being done? Two reasons. First — to distract your attention. They want you talking about the mythical Poroshenko trial instead of the real threats to our state’s existence. I stress, not to our victory, but the very fact of the state’s existence is under threat today,” he stated.
“I emphasize that the author and director of this dirty, stinking show is Portnov. A man who worked for the FSB, a representative of russia, a person sanctioned by the U.S., and not just a legal adviser to Yanukovych — he was the main pillar of the repressive, legal, and extrajudicial system of the current government,” Poroshenko stressed.
“Just look at who initiated the cases that were listed so diligently to discredit and try to isolate Poroshenko. Shufrych, Sivkovych, Derkach, Kuzmin, Portnov — who personally or through relatives filed the relevant statements. Where are these gentlemen now? Kiva, by the way. You know where Portnov and Kiva are. And the rest fled and are sitting in russia,” he said.
“I deeply regret that among all those who filed false accusations used by the authorities to go after us, none are being held criminally accountable,” he added.
“Let me remind you briefly about this case. It’s the graveyard of Prosecutors General. Four Prosecutors General tried to get involved in this case and ran from it like the devil from holy water. I can only echo the words of former Prosecutor General Riaboshapka — a 100% Zelenskyy person — who said this case is nothing but legal trash. It’s rare for a prosecutor to give such an assessment of an investigation made to order. The President’s Office’s escort service — that’s what the State Bureau of Investigation has become,” he commented.
“Then there was Venediktova, who couldn’t bring herself to sign the legal documents. And when she had to sign, she went on vacation. Then came Kostin — people say various things about him, but his signature isn’t on a single procedural document,” he added.
The fifth President of Ukraine emphasized that the prosecutors, in violation of the law, showed up in the courtroom.
“They issue summons with non-existent dates. They replace the court. They aim for one thing — a show. And second — removing the opposition leader from the political landscape. They hoped to do it with sanctions — that didn’t work. Now it’s part two of the ‘Marlezon ballet,’” he said.
“Advice to the authorities: focus on air defense. Advice: build fortifications. Advice: stop your thieves who looted army supplies. Advice: invest resources and professionals in reviving diplomacy, which you’ve plunged into deep crisis. Because the Ukrainian people will pay a terrible price for it,” said the leader of “European Solidarity.”
