Iryna Herashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, stated that the key task of the authorities during the full-scale war should be to concentrate all resources on strengthening and financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, rather than discussing future elections.

She emphasized that the current, 15th session of the Verkhovna Rada has become an anti-record, and without the large-scale war this composition of parliament would have long ceased its work. According to Herashchenko, any talk about elections during the war is unworthy, as instead of “peace agreements” Ukraine sees nightly shelling of Kyiv and Kharkiv.
The politician noted that such statements do not warm the homes of Kyiv residents in Troieshchyna and Solomianka, where people have been living in the cold for weeks due to the consequences of attacks and the energy crisis.
Herashchenko also reported appeals from the front, where soldiers speak of a critical shortage of basic means for survival. According to her, the lack of supplies even leads to amputations due to hypothermia, and responsibility for this lies with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the authorities as a whole.
She sharply criticized the state budget, stating that there is a “huge hole” in funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and stressed that every case of hypothermia at the front is the responsibility of parliament.
Separately, Herashchenko drew attention to the situation in Kyiv, stating that 8 billion UAH had been “stolen” from the city, funds that were supposed to be allocated for air defense and cogeneration units to help residents during the energy crisis.
