According to meteorologist Natalka Didenko, the current week will remain cold, but starting next week, the frosts will begin to retreat. From January 25–26, daytime temperatures will show 0°C or slight positives.
On Wednesday, January 21, Ukraine’s weather will be dominated by an anticyclone, ensuring sunny weather without precipitation. At night, temperatures will range from -10 to -17°C, during the day from -4 to -8°C, with some areas in the north reaching -10°C.
In Kyiv, nighttime temperatures are expected to be from -12 to -14°C, and daytime from -6 to -8°C. The day in the capital will be dry, but roads will remain icy.
It is worth noting that this January in Ukraine is marked by record-low temperatures not seen in the last 16 years. Similar frosts were observed in the early 2000s, particularly in 1996, 1997, 2006, and 2010, when temperatures dropped to -10°C for several weeks.
