📢 According to a statement from the U.S. Army Command in Europe and Africa, this is part of a strategy to optimize military presence, improve support for allies, and enhance operational efficiency.
🤝 The relocation is happening in coordination with the Polish side and NATO partners, but Yasionka will continue to play an important role in providing military aid to Ukraine.
🇵🇱 Polish President Andrzej Duda emphasized that this is not the withdrawal of U.S. troops, but a regrouping of equipment and personnel to improve efficiency.
🛡️ U.S. forces have been based at Yasionka since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The hub was protected by Patriot air defense systems.
🌍 After the NATO summit in Washington, responsibility for coordinating aid to Ukraine within the “Ramstein” format was transferred to the Alliance, which allows for reducing the burden on the USA and transferring additional anti-aircraft systems from Germany and Norway.
