🛡️ The United Kingdom is currently under the greatest missile threat since the end of the Cold War, according to a report from the Council on Geostrategy, published by The Times.

🚢 The main danger to the UK comes from Russian military ships and submarines stationed off the coast of Norway. From there, strikes could be launched on British territory. The Russian Northern Fleet possesses 800 cruise missiles that could be used against the UK.
⚠️ Additionally, Russia has Kalibr missiles capable of hitting targets over 2000 km away. British analysts note that the country lacks sufficient means to defend against such attacks. The current air defense systems do not provide adequate protection, even for military sites, let alone large cities.
🔍 The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has ordered a strategic defense review to assess weaknesses in the military and ways to address them. However, the report is likely to confirm the lack of ground-based missile defense systems in the country.
🚀 The report also notes that China, Russia, and Iran are actively investing in the development of hypersonic and ballistic weapons, increasing the missile threat to the UK. Experts recommend that the government acquire additional Sky Sabre anti-aircraft missile systems to protect strategic sites from cruise missiles and drones.
💡 A separate priority should be the purchase of anti-aircraft guns to destroy drones, such as the German Gepard systems, which have proven effective in Ukraine.
🌍 The geographical position of the UK provides advantages, but the expansion of missile capabilities by its adversaries must also be taken into account.
