🔹 U.S. diplomat Chris Smith met with Lukashenko and Belarusian KGB chief Ivan Tertel.
🔹 During the negotiations, an agreement was reached to release three political prisoners, including one U.S. citizen.
🔹 This could be the first step toward restoring U.S.-Belarus relations after a five-year hiatus.
⚖️ Washington is considering further prisoner releases, which may lead to a reduction in sanctions on Belarusian banks and potash exports.
💬 Smith called this a “huge victory” and part of Trump’s “Peace through Strength” policy. One of the main U.S. goals remains weakening Moscow’s influence over Minsk.
