💬 “Three years ago, at the ‘Ramstein’ airbase, our allies gathered for the first meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. 40 countries, including NATO and EU members, united to support our fight for freedom and independence,” said Umerov.
🇺🇸 Today, the “Ramstein” format continues to operate and even expands. Leadership is currently provided by the United Kingdom and Germany, while the United States remains a key participant. Ukraine remembers that this platform was created thanks to an American initiative in April 2022.
💰 The minister also emphasized the new aid of around $24 billion announced at the last Contact Group meeting, which confirms the effectiveness of this format in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
🌐 The Contact Group now unites more than 50 countries, which have pledged security assistance to Ukraine totaling nearly $170 billion. These efforts have already been decisive on the battlefield.
🛡️ Within the “Ramstein” format, Ukraine has received advanced air defense systems, HIMARS, Leopard tanks, F-16 and Mirage jets. Nine capability coalitions have also been formed, including for aviation, maritime security, air defense/ballistic missile defense, artillery, and many others.
🌟 “These coalitions are not only a tool for aid. They are a symbol of unity in the free world and a contribution to Ukraine’s future,” added Umerov, emphasizing the importance of support for creating modern defense forces.
