🔍 The head of the party’s regional branch, Antti Ahonen, explained the decision by citing a lack of trust in the candidate. According to him, Turja is also running in the municipal elections in the city of Pori, and the local party branch there will likely make a similar decision.
📞 Ahonen noted that the party attempted to contact Turja to clarify the motives behind her statements, but she did not respond.
🇺🇦 The politician emphasized that the party’s stance on the war in Ukraine remains unchanged—the Finnish coalition supports the Ukrainian people’s fight for independence.
📰 The scandal erupted after Iltalehti highlighted Turja’s Facebook post from February 17, in which she claimed that Ukraine’s borders had never been officially confirmed and that the country had always been part of Russia.
