💼 A European Commission spokesperson noted that Brussels positively assessed the creation of the Reconstruction Investment Fund and assured that this cooperation not only does not harm Ukraine’s Eurointegration but also contributes to it.
💬 “The Commission welcomes the commitment of the United States to invest together with Ukraine in a free, sovereign, and secure Ukraine,” emphasized the European Commission representative.
📑 The EU highlighted that the agreement contains special provisions to ensure the fulfillment of all Ukraine’s obligations to the Union, particularly within the framework of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA).
🔑 “This is not only an investment initiative but also another step towards the integration of the Ukrainian economy into the EU Single Market,” noted the Commission.
🌐 The agreement recognizes Ukraine’s Eurointegration path as a fundamental element of its sovereignty and security. Brussels insists that the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine must meet the EU standards and principles.
💰 The agreement stipulates that natural resources remain the property of Ukraine, the fund is established in a 50/50 format without debts, and implementation through legislative changes requires only targeted adjustments to the Budget Code.
🔧 The fund will invest in Ukrainian projects, including mining, infrastructure development, and new technologies, attracting partner funds from the EU and other countries.
📌 The European Commission emphasized that the agreement fully aligns with the political and economic frameworks of Ukraine’s EU accession application and that, together with partners, they must ensure a successful and fair reconstruction of Ukraine.
