🗣 He said this in an interview with TVN 24. The head of Poland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the outcome of the russian-Ukrainian war will determine the balance of power on the European continent and the sense of security.
🤔 “I think we cannot be sure what our large neighbor, russia, will do as long as vladimir putin is at the helm of this country,” he emphasized.
🔴 Sikorski pointed out that today’s russia is a bloody dictatorship with more political prisoners than the collapsed soviet union.
💡 “It has built an ideology, brainwashed people about returning to an empire. Therefore, russia, under this leadership and with this state ideology, will remain a threat as long as this leadership remains,” said the Polish diplomat.
🔧 At the same time, Sikorski added that “there is a scenario where russia simply runs out of people and equipment to continue this offensive war.”
🇺🇸 The Polish Foreign Minister also spoke about the American vision of how the war should end.
🤝 “My Ukrainian interlocutors say they are grateful to the United States for de-escalating the situation in a way that made their American negotiations with putin possible,” Sikorski said, noting that the U.S. administration’s diplomacy does not follow traditional conventions.
📝 “According to the traditional canon, a trusted communication channel is first established, the intentions of the other side are studied, then means of building trust are created, and only then do leaders bless an almost finalized agreement. Donald Trump has his own unique style, but Ukrainians tell me that this gives hope for accelerating certain processes that will lead to lasting peace. So, in this regard, they are giving Donald Trump a credit of trust,” he added.
