💼 The British neobank Revolut, despite its intention to enter the Ukrainian financial services market, has not yet obtained a banking license from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). According to the NBU, the company has not submitted any relevant applications, which means there are no guarantees of protection for clients and deposits.

🏦 Revolut Bank UAB is a foreign bank registered in Lithuania, with a license to operate in EU countries but not in Ukraine. To operate in Ukraine, the company must either establish a branch or obtain a banking license from the NBU.
📑 The NBU emphasizes that when considering an application, it evaluates the reputation of the founders, the financial condition, and the business model of the company. Additionally, the NBU may consult with supervisory authorities from the company’s home country.
🔒 Since Revolut operates outside of Ukrainian legislation, its clients in Ukraine do not have access to consumer protection rights for financial services or deposit guarantees. The NBU is ready to take all necessary measures to ensure the stability of the banking system and protect clients’ interests.
💳 It is worth noting that Revolut plans to obtain a banking license to offer accounts in hryvnias, loans, and merchant services for businesses, but currently operates as a financial app.
