On September 30, Ukrainian experts from the Lviv Memorial and Search Center “Dolya” began work on locating and exhuming soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in the forested area of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship near the village of Yurechkova.

Preliminary estimates suggest that up to 18 insurgents who died in March 1947 during a battle with units of the Polish army may be buried at this site. The UPA was attempting to prevent the deportation of Ukrainians as part of Operation Vistula.
The first day of the expedition was complicated by heavy rains, but specialists have already removed up to one meter of soil.
Historically, the village of Yurechkova belonged to the Lviv Voivodeship, and after World War II, it permanently became part of Poland.
