🇪🇺 Ukrainian companies are losing positions in the EU market due to the CBAM mechanism – Centravis

🇪🇺 Через екомито CBAM українські компанії втрачають позиції на ринку ЄС – Centravis

The introduction of the European environmental mechanism CBAM is significantly affecting the position of Ukrainian seamless pipe manufacturer Centravis on the EU market, said the company’s strategic planning manager Luca Di Santo.

According to him, around 95% of Centravis’ products are exported, and 70% go to European Union countries, meaning the new rules are critically important for the business. He warns that in the second half of 2026 Ukrainian manufacturers may face problems with emissions verification, which would lead to the use of default values and a significant increase in costs.

The company also notes increased pressure from European customers, who are already assessing future additional costs and attempting to pass part of them onto the manufacturer.

An additional risk factor remains the war: Centravis’ main production is located in Nikopol, an area affected by hostilities, as well as increasing competition from cheaper Indian producers.

The company emphasizes that without easing CBAM conditions, Ukrainian exporters risk losing part of the European market.
