According to World Bank calculations, nearly $91 billion will be needed over the next decade to restore Ukraine’s energy sector, said Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.

At the roundtable in the United States, “Global Partnership for Ukraine: Strategic Opportunities in the Energy Sector,” Shmyhal outlined key areas for investment: energy storage systems (BESS), renewable energy, gas generation, development of local grids, gas extraction, and oil and gas infrastructure.
The minister emphasized that successful recovery is only possible with private capital involvement and requires partnerships based on shared strategic interests: a modernized energy system for Ukraine, a diversified energy architecture for Europe, and investor access to one of the largest infrastructure markets on the continent.
