At the beginning of the week, Ukraine temporarily halted the process of filling its underground gas storage facilities due to intense Russian shelling. The report comes from RBC-Ukraine, citing data from the Gas Transmission System Operator and European gas platforms.

An additional factor was the suspension of gas imports through Poland — modernization work is underway at the interconnection point between the two countries’ gas transmission systems.
Previously, supplies through Poland amounted to more than 9 million cubic meters per day, but the resumption of imports is scheduled for October 23. During the first three days, the volume will be limited to 6.48 million cubic meters per day.
According to operators, gas reserves in underground storage have already decreased by 0.01%, indicating a short-term impact of the suspension on the country’s energy balance.
