According to the outlet, the advisor will be Robert Kupiecki — Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for security and transatlantic relations. He is an experienced diplomat: in 2008–2012 he served as Poland’s ambassador to the United States, and later as Deputy Minister of National Defense.

The new advisor’s task will be to provide information on the international situation and security threats to Warsaw and Europe. He will also take part in NATO high-level meetings on ending russia’s war against Ukraine, promoting Poland’s position.

Gazeta Wyborcza notes that this step by Tusk is a preventive measure against Nawrocki’s presidential palace.
