Turkey has stated its readiness to deploy its troops to Ukraine as part of peacekeeping forces only on the condition that a ceasefire regime is established and that the mission’s mandate and the contribution of each participating country are clearly defined.

This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, emphasizing that Ankara is open to participating in any constructive initiative aimed at achieving a lasting ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The ministry stressed that a key prerequisite for sending Turkish troops is not only the cessation of hostilities itself, but also a clear definition of the tasks of the peacekeeping mission and the role of each state.
In addition, Turkey reported that it is leading military planning aimed at supporting security and stability in the Black Sea and ensuring the safety of navigation after a ceasefire is achieved.
Ankara also emphasized the importance of the Montreux Convention. According to the Ministry of Defense, Turkey will continue to implement it in accordance with the principle of regional responsibility, ensuring balance in the Black Sea and acting responsibly, impartially, and without compromise on regional security.
