U.S. President Donald Trump stated that tariffs are a key component of his ability to make peace deals, reports CNN.

According to Trump, U.S. customs policy helps prevent wars and promotes global stability:
“The United States will not deal with people who fight. Tariffs brought peace to the world, I’m telling you. They brought peace to the world,” he emphasized.
The President also highlighted that economic pressure through tariffs played a role in the peace process between India and Pakistan.
“Tariffs give you a tremendous path to peace and to saving millions of lives — just millions and millions of lives,” Trump noted.
Earlier, the President claimed he was capable of ending the war in Ukraine, stressing that America’s strong economic position is the main tool of influence for achieving peace.
