“Marco Rubio will meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, and they will agree on the date and location of the summit. I believe it was a very good phone conversation, but we will still meet with President Putin and make decisions,” Trump said during a press conference.
He added that he will discuss the issue of potential sanctions with Senator Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson, emphasizing that he is not against sanctions, but now is not the ideal time to implement them.
Additionally, Trump announced a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which he plans to discuss the results of the recent conversation with Putin and coordinate future bilateral contacts.
