On Thursday, January 22, the White House released the list of countries participating in the Peace Council, but Belgium was mistakenly included, even though it did not actually take part in signing the agreement.

According to RTBF, the list also included Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, and Uzbekistan.
Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot quickly denied the information: “Belgium did not sign the Peace Council agreement. This statement is incorrect. We are striving for a joint and coordinated European response.”
Government sources reported that the mistake was caused by confusion between Belgium and Belarus.
