Earlier, Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed readiness to deploy a contingent of the Royal Armed Forces to maintain a truce along the front line; however, those plans have now been set aside. London is now preparing to help Ukraine rebuild its armed forces after the conclusion of active hostilities.
The first deployments are expected to take place within a week after the cessation of shelling, with British presence significantly increasing afterward.
Additionally, the United Kingdom intends to join the “Coalition of the Willing” to ensure the security of Ukraine’s air and maritime space. London is considering sending Eurofighter Typhoon and F-35 fighters, as well as ships and personnel from the Royal Navy, to the Black Sea operational group established by Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria to accelerate the demining of the Black Sea.
The British government emphasizes that these measures will help guarantee the security of Ukraine’s skies, restore international air travel, ensure safe access to seaports, stimulate the economy, and enhance the combat readiness of the Ukrainian army.
