The Fund emphasizes that the IMF supports active European discussions regarding assistance to Ukraine and insists that any decisions must be compatible with restoring the sustainability of Ukraine’s debt.

Kozack noted that the IMF is following the course of negotiations in which various mechanisms for using Russia’s frozen assets are being considered. At the same time, the Fund’s leadership stresses that any actions concerning these funds must comply with international and national legislation and must not undermine the functioning of the international monetary system.

The IMF representative reminded that the organization’s resources are intended to support the balance of payments and stimulate economic growth, not to directly repay Ukraine’s debt obligations.
