European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has stated that Ukraine will receive €6 billion for the purchase of domestically produced drones as part of a €90 billion credit program. According to Ukrinform, she made the statement during a speech in the European Parliament.

“In the spring, we said that we would provide a €90 billion loan — one way or another. And we delivered on that promise,” von der Leyen said.
According to her, the first defense package under this program will be directed toward Ukrainian-made drones for Ukraine’s needs. Its value will be around €6 billion.
She also emphasized that while Russia is intensifying its aggression, the European Union is increasing its support for Ukraine.
Von der Leyen reminded that under the €90 billion loan, which was unblocked earlier this month, the EU plans to disburse the first tranche of €45 billion by the end of the quarter in 2026.
According to her, one-third of the funds will go to Ukraine’s budgetary needs, while two-thirds will be allocated to the defense sector.
