The German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that Russia should not benefit from rising energy prices and the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

According to him, pressure on Russia must remain high, especially in the Russian energy sector. He emphasized that the European Union and G7 countries must work together to ensure that Russia does not become the main beneficiary of global crises.
Wadephul also stressed the need to adopt the 20th EU sanctions package against Russia as soon as possible. In addition, he noted that Germany and other EU countries should strengthen bilateral support for Ukraine.
According to him, within the framework of German-Ukrainian government consultations, Berlin has already promised the supply of several hundred surface-to-air guided missiles for Patriot and Iris-T systems in the coming years, as well as further support in the field of drones, including joint drone production.
