European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jørgensen outlined options for the European Union’s preparation for an energy crisis due to the war in the Middle East. He spoke about this in an interview with the Financial Times.

Jørgensen noted that the EU is considering all possible measures to prepare for a prolonged energy shock.
“This will be a long crisis… Energy prices will remain high for a very long time,” he emphasized.
Among the possible measures are fuel rationing and the release of additional volumes of oil from emergency reserves.
At the same time, the Commissioner predicts a worsening situation in the coming weeks regarding some critically important European products.
