Permanent representatives of the European Union countries approved a new package of sanctions against Russia on Wednesday, reported Ricard Jozwiak, Europe editor at “Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty,” on social media platform X.

According to him, the restrictions will target nine individuals and companies involved in the operations of Russia’s “shadow fleet.” The sanctions list will also include 43 vessels that Russia uses to circumvent existing restrictions.
Additionally, EU ambassadors agreed on sanctions against 12 individuals and two organizations that Brussels believes are destabilizing the situation in the European Union. The list includes officers of Russian military intelligence, members of the “Valdai Club,” as well as citizens of the United States, France, and Switzerland who, according to the EU, cooperate with Russia.
