According to him, no build-up of military forces is currently being observed directly near the Ukrainian border on the Belarusian side. At the same time, since 2022, a limited number of units has remained there, with no significant changes.
However, Demchenko noted that intelligence data points to increased activity deeper inside Belarus, which may indicate growing Russian influence over Minsk.
He suggested that in the future, provocations on the Ukrainian direction cannot be ruled out, or even attempts at invasion, although no formation of strike groups has been detected so far.
The SBGS also emphasizes that Russia, if necessary, could quickly redeploy its forces and use Belarusian infrastructure for potential actions against Ukraine.
