Chinese leader Xi Jinping, during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Beijing, announced his intention to deepen economic ties and increase investments between the two countries, reports Reuters.

Xi emphasized that China-Russia relations “continue to develop at a higher level” despite global instability. According to him, strengthening cooperation is a “strategic choice” for both nations.
The Chinese leader highlighted energy, agriculture, aerospace, the digital economy, and green development as priority areas of partnership.
In turn, Mishustin stated that Moscow and Beijing must continue to create favorable conditions for mutual investments and support joint infrastructure and production projects that enhance the strategic resilience of both economies.
In a joint communiqué, both sides confirmed their readiness to expand cooperation in trade, energy, science, technology, and defense, as well as to coordinate actions in response to external challenges that they believe threaten regional stability.
Analysts note that the rapprochement between China and Russia is taking place amid increasing Western sanctions pressure and Moscow’s reorientation toward Asian markets, while Washington under President Donald Trump maintains a tough stance toward both regimes.
