According to Magyar Nemzet, on the evening of March 1, Orban announced that extraordinary information had been received and that evidence of the real condition of the pipeline in Ukraine would be presented. On the morning of March 2, the prime minister took part in a national security meeting dedicated to the oil pipeline.
“Based on satellite images and operational information, it can be concluded that the pipeline is functioning. The attack had no direct impact on the line, therefore there are no technical obstacles to restoring operations,” Orban said. He added that the satellite images would be available to everyone.
The prime minister called on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to restore the operation of Druzhba and to allow Hungarian and Slovak inspectors to clarify the disputes. Orban emphasized that Zelenskyy’s actions are ordinary blackmail against Hungary and declared his intention to take countermeasures until oil supplies are restored.
