Russia has delivered an unofficial document to the United States reiterating its demands for a potential peace agreement with Ukraine, according to reports by Reuters and The Washington Post citing American officials.

In the document, Moscow insists on full control over all of Donbas, which contradicts U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to “freeze” the front line at current positions. Russia also demands that under no peace agreement should NATO forces be deployed in Ukraine.
The delivery of this unofficial communiqué coincided with growing doubts about a possible Trump–Putin summit in Budapest.
A White House representative stated that there are currently “no plans for such a meeting,” while the Russian Embassy in Washington declined to comment.
Commenting on the situation, Trump reminded that he has not yet made a decision regarding a meeting with Putin but does not want a “pointless encounter.” The U.S. president believes that a ceasefire along the current lines of combat may be possible, but the sides remain far from reaching a compromise.
