🇵🇱 Poland must continue to support Ukraine even in the event of a prolonged war — Sejm deputy

🇵🇱 У міноборони Польщі заявили, що планують випробовувати власне озброєння на українському фронті

Even if the Russian-Ukrainian war continues for a long time, Poland is interested in further assisting Ukraine and strengthening its position in future peace negotiations. This was stated by Polish Sejm deputy Klaudia Jachira on Slawa.TV on “Espreso.”

According to her, the key challenge remains maintaining international support for Ukraine. She emphasized that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion there was a spontaneous and strong wave of solidarity with Ukrainians in Poland, but today public optimism has significantly declined — both in Poland and in the European Union as a whole.

Jachira noted that in Western EU countries it is becoming increasingly difficult to find empathy for Ukraine, as the war is perceived there as a distant conflict. She cited Spain as an example, where events in Ukraine do not create the same immediate sense of threat as they do for Poles.

At the same time, the deputy stressed that the war can only end on terms that are fair for Ukraine. In her view, the issue of supporting Ukraine must constantly remain in the focus of Polish politics, as this corresponds to Poland’s national interests.

Klaudia Jachira also emphasized that Europe has no right to leave Ukraine alone with Russia, regardless of how long the war lasts.
