According to him, Warsaw is awaiting an official response from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and consultations on the transfer of the aircraft are ongoing at the technical level.
Zalewski confirmed that the Ukrainian side has agreed to accept Poland’s offer. The initial batch, he said, will consist of fewer than ten fighter jets.
Earlier, in December, Polish Deputy Minister of Defense Cezary Tomczyk reported that six to eight Soviet-made aircraft could be transferred to Ukraine as part of a possible military technology exchange agreement.
