Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that Ukraine’s membership in the European Union would automatically involve all EU countries in a war with Russia, even if a peace agreement is signed.

According to him, the war will continue as a constant threat due to the long 1,200 km front line. Orbán emphasized that including Ukraine in the EU creates a direct danger for all European countries, as “if the Russians launch an attack, they will be the first to suffer.”
Previously, Orbán also expressed doubts about who attacked whom – Russia on Ukraine or Ukraine on Russia – and called the EU summit, where a loan for Kyiv was approved, a “military council” rather than a political gathering. He criticized the lack of unity in Europe regarding the war and claimed that only in Hungary is the conflict viewed differently.
