The Lithuanian leader highly praised the efforts of the USA and Ukraine, emphasizing Kyiv’s flexibility and diplomacy in seeking to resolve the conflict. He noted that Ukrainians sincerely strive to put an end to the war and its suffering.
At the same time, Nausėda pointed out that Moscow’s ambitions could lead to unacceptable conditions for one of the negotiating parties: terms favorable to Russia would be unacceptable for Ukraine, and vice versa.
The President of Lithuania stressed caution in assessing the prospects of the negotiation process and noted that, although the USA has leverage over Russia, the Kremlin’s current position does not allow for full optimism regarding a rapid end to the war.
