Lithuanian diplomat Žygimantas Pavilionis, head of UNITED4UKRAINE and deputy chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Seimas of Lithuania, stated on Espreso and Slawa.TV that Hungary acts as a “Russian agent” in the EU and violates the community’s solidarity.

According to him, the EU could invoke Article 7 of the treaty, which allows the suspension of voting rights for countries that ignore the bloc’s solidarity. Pavilionis called it a “nuclear option” that has not yet been used, but Orban is aware of its existence, so the EU should consider how to use this “red button.”
The diplomat also compared the political situation in Hungary to Belarus and expressed concern about possible manipulation in Orban’s elections. He recalled examples from Moldova and Romania, where intelligence agencies actively worked during election processes to prevent Kremlin influence, and urged similar measures to be applied in Western Europe to counter Russian influence even before elections.
Pavilionis emphasized that the daily struggle for democracy is critical for maintaining the integrity of the political process and countering foreign influence.
