✈️ ISW: new Ukrainian guided aerial bombs may expand strikes on Russia’s rear areas

✈️ ISW: нові українські керовані авіабомби можуть розширити удари по тилу РФ

A new Ukrainian guided aerial bomb will likely allow the Armed Forces to expand their air interdiction campaign over the battlefield. This was stated in a new report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts note that the new capabilities of Ukrainian guided aerial bombs may enable strikes on Russian targets in the near and operational rear, partially mirroring Russia’s approach, which actively uses aerial bombs to attack Ukrainian logistics.

At the same time, experts emphasize that Ukraine is likely to keep its aviation assets away from the front line due to limited stocks of combat aircraft. Russia, meanwhile, is already using extended-range guided aerial bombs to strike Ukrainian positions.

The ISW suggests that Ukraine may partially adopt this tactic, adapting it to its own capabilities and battlefield needs.
