Germany has decided to simplify the export of air defense and naval defense systems, including to Ukraine, in order to accelerate weapons deliveries. This was reported by Handelsblatt, citing a statement from German Minister of Economy, Katarina Reiche.

The Minister of Economy announced the introduction of a new general export license (AGG), which will be valid for six months and is intended to speed up weapons deliveries to several countries, including Ukraine.

The simplified export applies to deliveries to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Ukraine.

Reiche explained that the decision is linked to the growing threats in the Persian Gulf region and the need to quickly provide air defense systems. She emphasized that Ukraine’s need for military support, especially in air defense capabilities, remains unchanged.

The new provision allows companies to carry out deliveries without submitting separate applications to the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). This concerns equipment for air and naval defense, as well as demining tools.

The regulation will be in effect until September 15, 2026, and requires mandatory company registration and monthly reporting on export operations.
