🔑 Former US Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor called the confiscation of frozen Russian assets and their allocation to support the Ukrainian army a difficult but sensible decision.

🗣️ In an interview with Ukrinform, he emphasized that purchasing weapons for Ukraine from American manufacturers using Russian funds is a win for everyone, as it is the Russians who should pay, not American, European, or Ukrainian taxpayers.
🏦 According to Taylor, about $300 billion of Russian assets are frozen in European banks, while the total US military aid to Ukraine amounts to $60-65 billion.
🎯 In this context, creating a special fund based on confiscated assets to purchase weapons in the US seems entirely logical and justified.
⚖️ “That is why it makes sense to confiscate this money and place it in a fund that Ukrainians can use to buy weapons from the United States,” the diplomat concluded.
