🕊️ Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico expressed dissatisfaction over the European Union diplomats ignoring the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Bratislava’s liberation from Nazi occupation. The event took place near the “Slavín” memorial complex, but representatives of EU countries, although invited, were not present.

🇷🇺🇧🇾 Instead, the event was attended by the russian ambassador Igor Bratchikov, the belarusian ambassador Andrei Dapkiunas, as well as representatives of the pro-russian group “Brother for Brother” and the anti-Semite Daniel Bombich.
💬 Fico stated that because of the invitation of diplomats from russia and belarus, “EU ambassadors told us they would not come.” He called this reaction “childish behavior” and reminded that diplomats are supposed to work, not “take offense.”
🛫 In addition, the Slovak prime minister confirmed his planned visit to moscow on May 9 and expressed his desire to “personally thank the Red Army for its contribution to the victory over fascism.”
🇪🇺 Fico’s position has sparked a new wave of criticism in Slovakia and Europe due to his alignment with states that are waging war against Ukraine.
