According to him, about 280 billion crowns passed through Czech companies as part of the initiative. The information, Babiš claims, was provided by the director of the Agency for Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation (AMOS), Aleš Vítečka.
Babiš also stated that the Czech budget “in a hidden way” allocated 17.1 billion crowns for weapons, and that all operations were classified.
Former Prime Minister Petr Fiala sharply criticized these statements, emphasizing that public discussion of the initiative’s details endangers the safety of people, companies, and the arms supplies themselves in wartime conditions.
Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček clarified that the ammunition initiative itself covered 114 billion crowns, while another approximately 160 billion were used through a similar mechanism involving international donors.
The Czech Republic coordinates the initiative together with the Netherlands and Denmark, searches for ammunition worldwide, and provides logistics, while the main funding comes from other countries. Overall, Ukraine has already received more than 4 million rounds of ammunition, of which 1.8 million were delivered last year alone.
