🚢 Among the 44 individuals and organizations sanctioned is the entire board of directors of the state-owned Sovcomflot — the largest shipping company in rf and the world. Restrictions were also imposed on the leadership of structures related to the oil and gas giant Gazprom — Gazprom Neft, the third-largest oil refiner in rf, and Gazprombank, a key intermediary in rf’s oil and gas transactions.
🚫 Australian citizens and companies are prohibited from doing business with sanctioned individuals and legal entities of rf, and those sanctioned are banned from entering Australia.
🤝 Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Penny Wong stated that the new sanctions aim to disrupt the russian authorities’ ability to finance the war and reflect close coordination with international partners.
