Ukrainian specialists have discovered a new modification of the Russian V2U drone, which operates with artificial intelligence. This type of UAV has begun to be widely used on all fronts over the past week. This was reported by communications, electronic warfare, and intelligence specialist Serhiy Beskrestnov (callsign “Flash”).

The new version differs from previous modifications by the absence of tail stabilizers in the center of the body, which may indicate a change in aerodynamics or functional purpose. It is likely a reconnaissance variant: after completing its mission, the device lands on the ground using a parachute.
According to Beskrestnov, the V2U series already includes strike drones, reconnaissance drones, and courier drones for logistics. The manufacturer and exact origin of the device are currently unknown, but key components — the control system and electronics — are of imported origin, without Russian-made parts.
The expert highlighted the potential of swarm tactics: “Interaction between reconnaissance and strike drones in a swarm format allows for highly coordinated strikes. This is one of the most innovative and at the same time most dangerous developments in the Russian arsenal.”
The emergence of autonomous UAVs with expanded functionality indicates the gradual adaptation of AI algorithms to combat conditions and creates new challenges for Ukrainian command on the front line.
